Colleen N. Allen, DDS
Experience
Dr. Allen completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology in three years at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, graduating with honors. During this time, she worked as a dental assistant, learning from two wonderful general dentists. She attended dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where she gained as much dental knowledge and experience as she could.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Allen had the desire to continue her education closer to home and completed a one-year advanced general dentistry (AEGD) residency at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.

Dr. Allen was born in Hickory, North Carolina, and grew up on a horse farm. Growing up, and still to this day, she has always loved playing music on any instrument she could get her hands on. She also loves sewing, wood-burning, and all other types of crafts. Around the age of 8, Dr. Allen's older brother got braces, and she became fascinated with dentistry, which she considers the melding of medical care and art. From then on, she was set on becoming a dentist. After finishing her training, Dr. Allen worked at a small private practice in Asheville. Today, she leads Autumn Dental, bringing a commitment to dental health, caring relationships, and customized treatment for all her patients. "It is wonderful to be back in my home state and close to family again," Dr. Allen says. "I have always loved hiking the mountains of western North Carolina with my pup and knew as soon as I came across the town of Hendersonville that I wanted to be a part of the community and raise my twin girls here." Dr. Allen is excited to help the residents of Hendersonville and Western North Carolina achieve their best smiles!
