Invisalign is a clear aligner therapy that allows us to straighten teeth without the metal of traditional braces. Instead Invisalign uses tooth-colored attachments on the teeth and clear retainer-like trays that fit over the attachments.
Invisalign uses virtually invisible aligners that are changed weekly to gradually shift your teeth into place. These trays are made, unique to your smile, from a digital scan of your teeth. Dr. Allen will instruct you on how long you will wear each tray – varying between 1 to 2 weeks.
Treatment with Invisalign varies based on the individual and the complexity of your treatment. When you come in for your complimentary Invisalign consultation, Dr. Allen will give you a timeline of how long your treatment would take and when you can expect to have your new, straight smile.
Caring for your smile with Invisalign is much easier than with braces. With Invisalign, you remove your trays every time you eat or drink anything other than water, and brush your teeth before you put your trays back in. Otherwise, your oral care routine is the same. There’s no flossing around wires and brackets – and there’s also no limit to what you can and can’t eat with Invisalign.
